Inanna Kyralin
Make sure to come watch. Maybe something will explode.
The youngest of the three Kyralin daughters and a third-level student at the Academy. Inanna runs everywhere, usually because she is late, and trips over things that are not there. Her teachers sigh at her name. Her sisters tease her without mercy and would walk into fire for her.
Under the noise sits a great deal of power. Inanna carries thick, heavy essence, the kind that suits a Vigorant, and she has never once learned to measure it. What she wants most is simpler than strength: she wants her father to be proud of her.

Frost
Veyra Kyralin
Please don’t make things explode.
The middle daughter and the first-ranked student of the Academy. Veyra is composed in public, exact in everything, and has little patience for anything that fails to go right on the first attempt. She prefers a plan to a confrontation, and declines suitors in front of everyone, which is how the name Frost began.
Her affinity runs to ice, and she reads flux so clearly that her teachers expect her to cross into Sensate rank any day now. The one variable she has never managed to control is her youngest sister.

Fulgur
Elara Kyralin
I’d rather solve problems than stand in front of them.
The eldest daughter. She earned the name Fulgur on the Academy obstacle course by leaving every other runner behind, and could have graduated a full circulation early. She stayed to finish alongside Veyra, and partly, she admits, because she was bored.
Lightning answers her easily, and the Construct Core bestowed on her a pair of chain-swords. Instead of the army she chose the investigative division of the Bureau. She teases Inanna constantly and keeps a closer eye on her than she lets on.

Thorvald Kyralin
Show us not only what you have learned, but how you apply it.
Lord of the Aelcrest Dominion. Thorvald does not lead by birthright. He leads because Aelcrest agrees that no one is stronger or wiser, and any challenger is welcome to prove otherwise. In the central square of Luminara his bronze likeness braces behind the same spiked shield he carries today, raised where he once stopped a stonebeast at the inner wall.
He is stern, dutiful, and very hard to impress, especially by his youngest daughter. His signature essence technique demands thick essence and even more self-control. Few people have seen him smile in company.

Mara Kyralin
They left quite a while ago. You might still catch them if you run.
Matriarch of House Kyralin and the calm center of a loud household. Mara keeps the Low Wind estate running, greets every disaster her daughters bring home with the same unhurried smile, and is never quite as unaware as she lets people believe.
Her eyes do not match: one is red, the other blue. Her daughters seem to have divided the difference between them.
