The Story
The Trials of Luminara
In Luminara, capital of the Aelcrest Dominion, every morning begins with two lights. Solara rises warm and gold. Beside it, Noctis pulses, counting out the hours of the cycle.
Inanna Kyralin is late. Again. The youngest daughter of Lord Thorvald carries more raw essence than students twice her rank, and almost none of the control to go with it. Today the Academy holds its trials, and the newest name on the judges’ panel is her father’s.
Her sisters have already made their names. Veyra, called Frost, stands first in the Academy. Elara, called Fulgur, left an entire obstacle course behind her. Inanna has a secret technique, far too much confidence, and one promise from her father: fail, and the winter belongs to him.
